We’ve all waited quite some time for this. Can you believe that I first talked about Dragon Quest IX back in 2006? The game is launching in the United States on July 11, 2010 – DRAGON QUEST IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for the Nintendo DS.
This is a must buy game.

Munchkin, the hit card game of killing the monsters and taking their stuff, is getting a new look. Starting with the 19th printing, all the John Kovalic illustrations in the fantasy Munchkin game will be in full color. Reprints of the fantasy supplements, also with colored art, are scheduled throughout the rest of 2010, starting with Munchkin 2 – Unnatural Axe and Munchkin 3 – Clerical Errors, both in June. Several other reprints, including Munchkin Bites! and Super Munchkin, are also at print.
“We’ve had nine years of feedback from Munchkin players about what they do and don’t like about the game,” said Brand Manager Andrew Hackard. “We tweaked a few things here and there to make the game smoother and more fun. It’s not a new edition, but it’s not the same old Munchkin, either.”
The 19th printing of Munchkin begins shipping May 24, 2010.

Wait for it…. New Pokemon Black and White details coming May 15. Gotta catch them all!
Update (May 15:) In Pokémon Black and White, your choice of starters are the Grass-type Tsutarja, the Fire-type Pokabu, or the Water-type Mijumaru.

Like its predecessor, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is an action game set in space. Yoshi joins Mario as they traverse a wild variety of galaxies exploding with imagination, helping out our hero as he gulps enemies, runs at super speed, or inflates like a blimp to reach high cliff tops. Whether Mario’s leaping into orbit around tiny micro-planets, tumbling through rooms with constantly flip-flopping gravity, or drilling through craggy worlds to emerge on the other side, he’ll need new abilities and serious jumping skills to survive the all-new challenges ahead! It’s time to break out the dizziness medications.
Don’t forget, this game’s North American release (for the Wii) is on May 23, 2010. I still haven’t completed the original Super Mario Galaxy game, but I’m looking forward to this one! Is anyone else buzzed about this game?

Will it be another Virtual Boy?
Nintendo recently announced (PDF) that their new handheld console device will go on sale “during the fiscal year ending March 2011″, but probably only in Japan at first. The device will be called the Nintendo 3DS and is said to be capable of 3D-like effects at the software level without the need for any special glasses. The device should also be fully backwards-compatible with all DS and DSi games. More details expected at the E3 show, which is scheduled to be held from June 15, 2010 in Los Angeles. Let the speculation begin.
Perhaps it’ll be like if Captain Eo and Virtual Boy had a baby.

If you remember the days of playing Pokemon Gold and Silver versions (nearly a decade ago), you’ll be amazed by all the great changes that have taken place. With more fun and challenges than ever, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions (enhanced for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems) will entertain everyone, whether you’re new to Pokemon or a lifelong fan like myself. Have you caught them all?

Glen Brogan is the amazing artist who created this awesome piece. If you’re a Super Mario Bros. fan, this is a must-have! Gallery 1988 has released a high quality art print of this piece, limited to 100 pieces and signed and numbered by this talented artist.

Thanks to the support of all the fans, Capcom has released Mega Man 10! (It’s a downloadable title for WiiWare for 1000 Wii Points.) Now fans of all ages can enjoy the newest entry into this historic 8-bit franchise. The game has three playable characters: Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass (via downloadable content). The Robot Masters in the game are Sheep Man, Commando Man, Blade Man, Strike Man, Solar Man, Chill Man, Nitro Man, and Pump Man. Plus there’s an easy mode is also included in the game, just in case you’re not up for the challenge.
I’m a big fan of Mega Man and it’s awesome that Mega Man 9 and this game’s graphics and music resemble the look and sound we had from the Nintendo Entertainment System of yesteryear. Do we have any other Mega Man fans out there?

Retro Sabotage – Retrogaming: classic games we know and love with a twist. Their latest hilariously sabotaged game is called Jumping and it’s quite silly.
