Windows Broken?

I don’t know what it is but my computer system is giving me more trouble. Perhaps it’s time to upgrade and rebuild it again. It’s therapeutic and fun for me, but it takes awhile and there’s a lot of downtime. But it’s better to fix it before it breaks on it’s own.

I don’t know why, but that’s what happens with my PS3. I always loose my friggen wireless signal on it so it starts over when I download updates. I never have a problem with my 360 with the wireless signal, so it’s freaking frustrating.

Personally, I have very seldom problems with Windows. My Windows 98SE endured 6 years without reistall, it was easily recovered after some crashes (due to instable drivers, or so). Finally the hardware kicked the bucket, but Win was still in good condition. Not to mention, I was treating it as a proving ground, installing alternative Service Pack and replacing some core dlls with file from XP. The system was running non-stop 24H/7D, only about once a week it needed restart.
My current XP does much better, almost no hangs, no restarts. Strange, isn’t it?
I’m curious, how durable Linux would be for me. I’m afraid, my life is to short to check this out. ;)
