On Sunday, 7/27 at Comic-Con San Diego 2008 get ready to “Dance Your Cares Away, Worry’s for Another Day, Let the Music Play, Down at Fraggle Rock!” Come celebrate the 25th anniversary of Fraggle Rock and the upcoming release of the Complete Fraggle Rock Box Set on DVD with a special event! The panel includes a live Fraggle-Rock sing-a-long featuring “Red Fraggle” with a special appearances by Dave Goelz (Muppet character Gonzo) and Karen Prell (performer of Red Fraggle).

Hey cool! I really liked Fraggle Rock growing up. I especially liked the lil green dudes that built stuff.

You mean the Doozers? They spent most of their time building, and Fraggles spend most of their time eating Doozer buildings. At least they always had a steady stream of work to do.

Sweet blog entry. This is the Muppet & Fraggle event of the year!
I was wondering where your Red Fraggle illustration came from? I do know the great Karen Prell is an artist in her own right and provided much of the fraggle drawings featured as props in the series and elsewhere. Could this have been drawn by her? Either way, it’s a beautiful fraggley-Muppety Red drawing. I especially like how the paper texture pops through the color.

Thanks! The above Red Fraggle illustration was emailed to me as a black and white PDF promotion for the Comic-Con event. I spent the good part of an evening coloring/texturing it in myself using Photoshop. I wanted to add a little bit of pizazz to an already wonderful drawing.
