Just Plane Insane

It's JerryTime! It was a plane trip to remember.

It’s been awhile but it was worth the wait - so get ready for another wonderful story from It’s JerryTime! This time around we find Jerry taking the plane. Bad airlines can make you insane and I’m sure you can relate to Jerry’s dislike of air travel. He said that the last leg of his flight was like the Twilight Zone’s Nightmare at 20,000 Feet. (Capt. Kirk seeing men in fuzzy suits reminds me of Star Trek.)

Can’t Fool Owls

Owls are here and you can't fool them. From the UK-based team at Webbls-Stuff.com

Another musical toon, looped for your pleasure from those creative Weebl guys. If it rhymes with Simon Cowell you can be sure it’s in Owls. Like most of Weebls stuff, you can’t get it out of your head and you can’t fool owls.

StarCraft 2 Screenshots

Blizzard has released a new batch of screenshots from the upcoming StarCraft II.

These new images of the upcoming StarCraft II game look wonderful! With no official release date yet from Blizzard, this is all we’ve got for now as my anticipation grows. My kingdom for new Zerg army! (The more Zerglings the better.)

Vivid New DS Lite Colors

Nintendo confirms new DS colours for Europe.

Those lucky Europeans will see the vibrant new Red, Turquoise and Green Nintendo DS Lites hitting shelves across Europe on June 13, 2008. Perhaps the rest of us will see those or other colors coming from Nintendo in the future. I can’t say that I’m terribly fond of these new colors and I’m pretty happy with my Onyx DS Lite. Maybe I’d grab a new Brown DS Lite if one came out… (hint, hint Nintendo)

New Dragon Quest Games

Dragon Quest IV remake on Nintendo DS.

The web is abuzz on the recent big news about the Nintendo DS remake of Dragon Quest IV Chapters of the Chosen, which will be released in the U.S. September 16. (It will be followed by parts V and VI, which have never been released in U.S. before.) Dragon Quest IV was known as Dragon Warrior IV in America when it was released for the NES way back in 1992. This is some exciting news for the world of RPG games!

I do enjoy me some Dragon Quest!

Gorillas.bas

Flash remake of Gorillas.bas

When you think of MS-DOS games what comes to mind when you think of two gorillas throwing explosive bananas at each other? This game was one of my favorite back in the QBASIC days and now you can play it again (in these FLASH days). Gorillas.bas has all the action, excitement and guesswork you’ve come to expect in a turn-based, banana game. Go all apey on your friends and smack the smile off the sun.

Hulk will Smash Box Office

The Incredible Hulk Movie- In Theaters June 13, 2008!

Cool! It seems that Universal Pictures and Marvel Studios just updated the official website for The Incredible Hulk movie. So now you can get pumped for the upcoming Hulk flick by watching the trailers and grabbing downloads such as wallpapers, icons, photos and such. I’ve been a Hulk fan for as long as I can remember and I’m really looking forward to it, so cruddy CGI be damned! It opens June 13 and stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler and Tim Roth. (I’m glad they’ve made him into a hero this time.)

See Mike Draw

Silly sandwiches. The funniest cartoons on Earth by seemikedraw aka Mike Jacobsen.

See Mike Draw - It’s a site for “Mike [Jacobsen] to share his cartoons with the world” and he’s got some funny and twisted ones. I’ve been keeping up with his comic for quite awhile and highly recommend them to our mature readers. So if you want a laugh be sure to keep up with Mike and be sure to peruse his archives.

Pokemon Platinum Revealed

There's a few more to catch: Pokémon Platinum.

Just when I thought I almost caught most of them (420) there’s a new one coming out. I guess it should come as no surprise, since there’s been a new Pokemon game every few years. But since I’ve been hooked on these little Pocket Monsters for over a decade, I’m looking forward to the next one: Pokemon Platinum. It’ll be out in Japan this Fall and the rest of us will have to wait until next year I imagine. This new game prominently displays Giratina and it will build off the current Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. Enjoy the teaser site, which is there to whet your appetite!

Kid Creatures

Kid’s drawings redrawn by professional artists. This piece by Mark Behm.

Sure your kids’ scrawlings are a work of art, but here are some redrawn by professional artists. Some of them are just plain imaginative, what a neat idea!

This Little Piggy

Groves Tasteless Chill Tonic bottle. Pig Boy reminds me of Bobby Hill.

Finding yourself less than obese? Well here’s a product guaranteed to get children and adults fat as pigs. Over one and a half million bottles of Groves Tasteless Chill Tonic sold! I don’t know what it is, but it might just be semisolid pig renderings. I know this ad is from the 18th century, but doesn’t this little piggy remind you of Bobby Hill from the TV show King of the Hill? It also reminds me of a picture I took of Jermaine Rogers - Life-Sized Squire vinyl toy, at the San Diego Comic-Con last year.

Leisure Suit Cobra Commander

SDCC08 Exclusive from Hasbro G.I. Joe Cobra Commander Figure (Black Suit).

I went by my local comic book store and picked up my comics along with the latest copy of the Comic-Con Magazine (#2). It’s not available online yet (at the time of this post) and it’s got a nice little list of exclusives we can look forward to this year. I’d seen the Hasbro Cobra Commander exclusive and thought it looked quite unique, to say the least. Here’s an early list of some of the toy exclusives you’ll find this year:

The Anime Expo is the nation’s largest anime/manga convention, with the largest collection of import and domestic anime and manga merchandise anywhere in America. AX 2008 will be held July 3 – July 6, 2008 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Southern California. I’ll be attending for my first time this year, so I’m pretty jazzed. If you’re planning on going, don’t forget to sign-up early for your tickets and hotel. If you’re not attending, stayed tuned and I’ll keep you informed.

Nintendo Channel

Nintendo Channel is an interactive guide to what’s new in the world of Nintendo.

I woke up this morning to the blue light Wii special and a new update from WiiWare. It’s a new Wii channel called the Nintendo Channel and was just released in the U.S. today. So I downloaded it and then proceeded to start it up. I was greeted with a digest video that showcases many recent Nintendo games and commercials. It was a pretty smooth playback, even though the videos are streamed. (I just watched a neat interview with Shigeru Miyamoto.) I’ve not had time to play with it much, but I know you can also download demos and game patches, as well as rate games.
