Teen Transformers?

They’re fresh, they’re hip, they’re teens! The trend of revamping popular older cartoon series (yeah, I’m looking at you) into slimmer, trimmer, “teen-ier” versions, has now transformed. Here’s a clip of the upcoming animated series of the new (teen) robots in disguise. I’m not exactly sure what to think about all this.

Say it ain’t so! That looks horrible. Teen Titans is/was ok, and now Teen Trannies? That just sounds wrong. First of all they’re robots, they do NOT age in any sense that a human would. Ok, granted they took on the guise of various vehicles and mechanical devices to fit into our time/world. But take on a robo-teen equivalent image too? How can anyone take them seriously when they’re quarrelling over conflicting infatuations and metallic acne?
In the graphic above, I’m guessing that’s BumbleBee and he looks like a 4 year old. A toddlerbot.
I’ll be looking forward to kinder-kawaii GI Joe, especially the vinyl collectibles that will follow.

i love it! good ole’ derrick wyatt went bananas with those designs! to the naysayers… it’s a new transformer cartoon! you’ll watch it and after the first 2 episodes you’ll be like, it’s the best show. they did that with the movie. buncha pansies. if it’s not g1 it doesn’t exist. didn’t you ever think your own stories? i call this and of differnet transformer storylines alternate universes.

I think it looks like a pile of cat poo. Lamar…I love TF G1 and I’m tolerant of all of the other BS forms it has taken and been remodeled, but this?!? Please. It’s a pathetic way of taking one franchise that worked and mixing it with another franchise that worked and saying, eh, logically it’ll work….HORSE NUTS. It’s gonna bomb. Oh and by the way, Derrick Wyatt’s designs could have been varied a little. I mean, seriously, it looks like he just traced over his TT characters and recolored them and stuck metal on them. Really, go look at the stances and layouts of some of the group pics from TT and compare it to Teen Trannies (thanks for the name, Misterboto…lol). It looks the same.
Eat it, fanboys…it’s the truth.
