Journey Back

If you went to grade school (in the US) after the mid 70′s you might remember a computer game called The Oregon Trail. It was a game designed to teach students about the harsh realities of 19th century pioneer life on the trail to Oregon Territory. (The primary learning objective of the game is to develop decision-making skills with changing and sometimes unforeseen conditions.) Marion Vitus made a great comic that will help you relive your fond memories as a child, playing this crazy game.

Wow, way to take me back. When I was in college tutoring kids over 10 years ago, I was using The Oregon Trail software. I didn’t realize it had such a loyal following.
