One Piece: Unlimited Adventure

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure for the Nintendo Wii.

Who knows if this game will make it to the U.S., but One Piece: Unlimited Adventure for the Wii looks sweet! On Bandai’s (Japanese) site, they’ve got some great character art and other game info that will make you wish you were in Japan. Luffy and the gang look great in this game. I can’t remember, is the Wii region-free?

More great (Japanese) info on the company’s official site.

Update: Now with cool TV commercial action.

Clark Bars

Get Rich and Famous - The Clark Bar created back in the early 1910's by David L. Clark.

The famous Clark Bars with their simple, yet memorable packaging and tasty assortment of candy goodness. They’re all so rich, and so good, you may have trouble making up your mind. Clark Coconut Crunch, Clark Peanut Butter Log, Clark Crunchy Peanut Butter, Clark Zagnut, Clark Chocolate Mint and the famous Clark Bar. They’re an old time favorite, but it’s been a long time since I enjoyed one. Over time Zagnut went one way (acquired by Hershey’s) and the Clark Bar went another way (NECCO). I wonder if the other candy bars survived.

Spider-Bun Fun

The bunnies' portrayal of Spiderman 1 and 2, by Jennifer Shiman of Angry Alien.

Spider-Bun, Spider-Bun, be sure to checkout all the spider fun. This 30 second Flash with bunnies is really silly. I see the creator of these entertaining animations, Jennifer Shiman, is making one for the upcoming Spider-Man 3 movie.

The Little Caesars

Rocking out with the The Little Caesars Band. Pizza! Pizza!

Does anyone remember those Little Caesars commercials with those silly puppets?
I can’t find any info or videos on these guys. I guess I just had pizza on my mind and images of their entertaining puppet movements popped into my head. I just can’t get enough of their $5 “Hot-N-Ready” large cheese and pepperoni pizza. I’ve been a fan of their pizza chain for decades with their consistently good pizza. Perhaps I’ll just write them a letter with my questions and maybe get a Pizza! Pizza!

Wonder Women

Wonder Women from the 1970's TV series. Stuntwoman Jeannie Epper and Lynda Carter.

If you remember the 1970’s, you may recall a little TV series called Wonder Woman. My brother and I enjoyed this show tremendously, if in part because of (Miss World USA 1972) Lynda Carter in that wonderful outfit. USA Today has posted a great article on Wonder Woman stuntwoman Jeanie Epper. I just thought it was cool seeing the two together like that in the 70’s snapshot.

It’s too bad that the spinning thing she did to change clothes doesn’t really work…

Scrappy

Scrappy Cartoons (1931-1935) created by Dick Huemer. Picture by Dan Goodsell.

I was looking through our good friend Dan Goodsell’s collection of wonderful Flickr photos and I came across this Scrappy candy wrapper. This little round-headed boy reminded me of Mickey Mouse and Astro Boy. I wasn’t familiar with this cute cartoon character from the 1930’s, so I decided to look up some info on him. Then I found a great site that exuded all things Scrappy - Harry McCracken’s Scrappyland.

I’d like to watch some of his films, but the only video of a Scrappy cartoon I found has no audio. It’s still entertaining with it’s old school charm and simple merriment.

Tokyo Anime Fair 2007

Promoting the current One Piece movie.

It’s time for the Tokyo Anime Fair! Be sure to visit DannyChoo’s and Akihabaranews for some great snapshots of the largest anime show on Earth, which is held every year in Japan. It’s open to the public this weekend and if you’re in Tokyo you’re probably going. Lucky ducks! If you can’t tell, I’m a big One Piece fan!

Yet another Tokyo Anime Fair that I’m not going to.

Update: More great snapshots from the show.

Shorpy

Young Shorpy Higginbotham and his friends take a pause from coal mining back in 1910.

You kids nowadays have it a lot easier than kids did just a hundred years ago. Living was harder and so was work. If you didn’t work, you probably didn’t eat and if you worked, there was a good chance you could get killed. Shorpy.com is a great photo blog about what life was like a hundred years ago. The striking photography tells quite a story and really gets to you. Things were definitely harder back those days.

Pac-Man Stickers

Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man Stickers and Rub-Off Games by Fleer from 1980-1981.

If you’re a fan of Pac-Man and stickers, you’ll just love these Pac-Man Stickers!
I remember having a blast playing the Pac-Man scratch off games. I spent more money on them than baseball cards. These wax packs also offered you the option of cutting your gums on a stick of chalky, sharp bubble-gum.

Gum Dinger Adventures Conclusion

The Gum Dinger Adventures with Gumby and Pokey comes to an end.

We last left our bendable buddies worrying about how to retrieve their hot air balloon, which was stuck atop a giant Gum Dinger Pop. While enjoying one of the many candy flavors, Gumby blows a Gum Dinger bubble and learns the art of bubble maneuvering. Then both heroes POP back into their hot air balloon and head for home. Upon their return, they brag to Prickle and Goo about all fanciful flavors of Gum Dinger Pops they saw. I hope you enjoyed this humdinger of an adventure.

An over exuberant Pokey horses around and crashes their hot air balloon atop a giant Gum Dinger Pop! The overwhelming amount of tasty flavors clouds Gumby’s thoughts for a moment, until Pokey sets him straight. Then Gumby takes advantage of the vast amount of gum found in each pop and blows a Gum Dinger bubble.

Gum Dinger Adventures Part 1

The Gum Dinger Adventures with Gumby and Pokey.

I’m continuing the Gumby goodness with a classic Brachs ad from 1986. It shows Gumby and Pokey arriving by hot air balloon in the sweet and tasty Gum Dinger land. With all those mouth watering flavors, how will our clay chums survive another minute? Perhaps it’s got something to do with that delicious bubble gum center? For more taste bud tickling adventures, stayed tuned for Part 2.

The Gumby Show is 50

The 50th anniversary of 'The Gumby Show'.

It was 50 years ago when that little green slab of clay rolled on to television and into our hearts - Gumby! The classic TV episodes from the 1950s and 60s are being remastered and rolled out over digital channels in the coming months. Be sure to keep an eye out at the dedicated Gumby area on YouTube at the DMGI channel. Stayed tuned for more Gumby fun!

Dwarf Complete

A new EYEZMAZE RPG puzzle!

Dwarf Complete - it’s another fun puzzle game from EYEZMAZE and this one is a somewhat difficult RPG. It’s got an auto-save feature, so you can play it whenever you want. This one is going to take you some time to figure out. Good luck!

Update: I completely completed this fun puzzle game…although it took a few hours. You’ve just got to remember what you’ve learned and keep trying! It is tricky, but it flows nicely and doesn’t get boring. Let me know what you thought of the game.
