Christmas Vacation Bunnies

A membership in the jelly of the month club?

Another Christmas season is upon us and here’s another wonderful movie parody in Bun-O-Vision: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Go watch this funny 30-second video before you go out to decorate your house in lights and hurt yourself. (This movie is great, but does anyone really have a family like this?)

Lee Leens

Lee Leens: The grown-up pants.

What is the first thing you think of when you think of “grown-up” pants? Usually you’ll only hear that now when ads refer to kids special diapers or “training pants”. Then that gets me thinking of adult diapers and that’s the last thing most people want to think about. But an ad for “tough, tight jeans for young men”, just sounds like an invite to join the Village People. The only thing I think that Lee jeans had going for itself was Buddy Lee. I want to be like Buddy Lee…

Danke Schoen

I'm back from Berlin, Germany.

I’m a bit jet-lagged now, so give me a moment to catch up. Let me say that Berlin is a great place to visit. My recent trip to Germany was a blast, even if I did loose some luggage. I really dislike airlines, but at least there were no gremlins.

Kiwi

A super animation by Dony Permedi - Kiwi!

How far would you go to follow your dream? The story of a Kiwi is wonderfully created and animated by Dony Permedi. The music is well done and the whole thing is quite touching.

Final Fantasy III Released

4 characters, 23 jobs, 279,841 possible party configs - Final Fantasy III on Nintendo DS.

I’ve been waiting for Final Fantasy III, to play on my black Nintendo DS lite, for what feels like ages. I think I’m more excited about this game coming out than I am with the release of the Wii. This game comes out in the U.S. today - go buy it.

I’ve been a fan of the series for a long time and this one looks super-duper fun!

Update: I was right! It is fun! Fun, fun, fun!

Waiting on Wii

A whole lot of Wii.

Ready for the release of Nintendo Wii? The U.S. release is less then a week away and you still can’t wait? Check out a few videos to keep you busy - Wii promos and Wii games or check out these Wii photos. Here’s everything else Wii related. It’s too bad the rest of the world must wait, but it will be worth it.

Spider-Man 3 in 2007

Spider-Man 3, the darkness within.

Spider-Man 3 with Tobey Maguire starts May 4, 2007. It’s the third of six planned Spider-Man films. The super villains Sandman and Venom will be wreaking havoc this time around. Amazingly, Marvel Comics will see an immediate $10 million cut from the movie. Wow!

Any other Spider-Man fans excited about seeing this movie? It looks like it will be an action packed movie! Spider-Man, Spider-Man…. Spider-Man, no-one knows who you are.

Lonely Man Meals

The frozen meal for one - introducing Peatwik Stew.

Introducing “Lonely Man” frozen meals. Just heat and eat. No muss, no fuss.

Bee Movie

DreamWorks's next CG feature BEE MOVIE.

When I saw Jerry Seinfeld on TV the other day plugging the Bee Movie, I thought it was a joke. I mean it’s hard to take him seriously with all his silliness and he kept saying that the movie was “trying to open November 2007″. Well it’s a real movie and it seems that this is Seinfeld’s latest approach to the anti-trailer. It’s a film promo that doesn’t focus on clips of the real movie. What a concept!

(The movie trailer reminds me of Bumble Beeing.)

Where’s Waldo

Search for Waldo again after all these years.

Remember the Where’s Waldo books? Well now you can play it online! Don’t let the incessant chirping gulls drive you nuts and don’t post spoilers!

Meomi

Meomi specializes in Critter design.

If you like cute, cuddly little critters, then Meomi is the place for you. The cute characters, animation and art are just adorable. I really like how their site gives you a lot of interactivity with the critters. Be sure to play with the fun Flash animated areas.

Disney Makes New Fall Line for Nintendo

Disney forms Nintendo games studio

It looks like the magical Disney company is creating a video-game studio to make titles exclusively for Nintendo. This new studio will be called “Fall Line” and be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s just more great news for Nintendo.

Not George Bush

The political ads are almost over for 2006.

It’s almost Election Day and the political television ads are running rampant. Don’t let disgust, revulsion, personal powerlessness, and apathy keep you from voting tomorrow. Until then you can check out the latest Flash flicks from Mark Fiore about political ads.

Imbalance of Bodily Humors

Advertising, marketing and publicity are better than real information.

This early ad from the 1860’s was for a pretty well known brand of medications. Thomas Holloway was quite the entrepreneur of his time. He produced ointments and digestive pills that were world famous as a result of his amazing advertising. It was thanks to his good marketing and publicity that he became a multi-millionaire. But not all of those that marketed medicines at this time were as truthful as Holloway.

“It cures what ails you” was a popular phrase but was far from fact. It’s the lack of information on the advertisements along with the wild claims and false promises of medicinal properties, at this time in history, which makes it all very amusing nowadays. It all reminds me of the ‘Theodoric of York, Medieval Barber‘ SNL comedy sketches with Steve Martin.

The Day the Earth Looked Stupid

Homer the Blob from the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XVII.

Don’t forget that the Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror XVII” episode airs this Sunday. (Can you believe that this is the 18th season of this series?) In this annual Halloween episode we’ll see Homer as the Blob, Bart with a Golem and Kang and Kodos “liberating” Springfield.

Kang: “Well, the Earthlings continue to resent our presence. You said we’d be greeted as liberators! I’m starting to think ‘Operation Enduring Occupation’ was a bad idea.”
Kodos: “We had to invade. They were working on weapons of mass disintegration.”

As a bonus, there will be a sneak peek at The Simpsons Movie during the episode, so be sure to tune in.

Update: Watch the new trailer HERE.
