Upload a digital image, run the PingPongPixel program and their machine does the rest. The display is about 2 by 3 meters and takes about 2.5 hours to create an image. By dispensing 45 new balls in the right order a new line is formed. Each picture is built out of 2700 tennis table balls in 6 gray tones. It’s a great example of an interactive non-luminescent display system. Watch the video on how it works.

That must’ve been an awesome project to be a part of. I’d like to get one to replace my computer monitor.
