Pac-Man Paint with Water

Pac-Man Paint with Water book by Whitman - 1982

I originally got this Pac-Man Paint with Water art-book as a gift and being such a Pac-fanatic, I kept in great condition. Books like these were even easier to do then paint-by-number books. I’ve not played with this book in 20+ years, but the pages are as vivid as I remember. While scanning these, I’ve noticed that I did take advantage of the “easy tear-out pages”, but only a few are missing. I don’t have those masterpieces on hand, perhaps they were donated to an art museum or something. Click on the thumbnails below to see the larger scanned version.

What could be better then to paint Pac-Man, Mrs. Pac-Man and Baby Pac-Man? Even the four ghosts (Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde) take part in the funny scenes -whether they’re hiding or running. Click and enjoy!

The Ride Home Update

The Ride Home comic, is a about a gnome named Nodo, by Joey Weiser.

If you’ve been keeping up with Joey Weiser’s comic, The Ride Home, the story has now been completed! You can read all the chapters online - for free. It’s quite a good story and you’ll enjoy his illustrations. Be sure to also checkout an interview of Joey at PopImage. Congrats Joey!

Line Rider

Line Rider is a toy, not a game.

Line Rider - Draw your line, click play and watch your sled buddy fly down the slope. It’s addictive and fun to play around with, even if there isn’t an erase option yet. I like drawing steep slopes for those high flying jumps or creating a deep, narrow pit for him to bounce down. It’s simple, but fun!

Update 2: Wow they’ve hit the big time!

Mr City Men

Mr Fortune - Eric Lerner’s Mr. City Men

Eric Lerner’s Mr. City Men - these mini movies and their merging mediums mesmerize, while the melodious music moves you. The characters have personalities all their own. Let me know what you think.

Trans-Fat Prohibition

A ban of trans fats in restaurants?

Ah applesauce! Have you heard about NYC and Chicago considering banning trans fat in restaurants? This would be an amazing feat to accomplish and it would help our ever “growing” nation. The ban would only affect restaurants, so people wouldn’t be forced to make bootleg bathtub fries in their basement. Perhaps fast food “eateasies” would pop up all over and we’d refer to these fat-free areas as “slim” counties.

The Meatrix

What is the Meatrix?

Unfortunately, no one can be told what The Meatrix is. You have to see it for yourself. I’m trying to free your mind.

Fun with Food. 5

The Rambutan fruit is a tropical fruit similiar including to the Lychee and Longan.

This time around I went with something a little sweet - Rambutan fruit. I’ve had this before and it’s actually a favorite of mine. You can get this fruit with or without pineapple installed in each Rambutan fruit. I prefer mine with the pineapple. It has a sweetish white pulp and when it’s combined with the pineapple, it makes a great treat. (Click on these thumbnails for a larger picture.)

I took this Rambutan apart to show you both fruits. Tasty fruit and great when served chilled.

I like mine slightly chilled when I eat them. Go ahead and give it a try, it’s nothing too exotic and it’s a nice change from the regular fruit cocktail.

Tokyo Game Show 2006

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2006 (TGS06) opens today!

If you happen to be in Japan and going to TGS this year, you’re one lucky person. If you’re like the rest of us, who have to sit idly by and try to glean info from the net to find out what’s going on, I hope this helps.

As in previous years, it is being held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the TGS. The show will likely dwarf the attendance of E3 because they allow the public to attend after the opening day. For more great info on all things TGS06 please check out this PDF and these fine sites: Joystiq, Akihabara News, DannyChoo and Digital World Tokyo.

Update: 4CR is reporting from TGS06 too!

Update 2: Check out the video that DannyChoo uploaded to Google Video and YouTube!

Luffy Plush

Monkey D. Luffy from the anime and manga One Piece.

Since my previous post about the Chopper plush is so popular, I thought I’d show you one of my favorite One Piece stuffed toys. This is Luffy, from the One Piece anime. I picked him up at a con last year. He’s well built with good stitching and I left the plastic on the flag to keep the dust off it. He’s a firmer plush that can sit up on his own and looks great.

Dragon Quest Joker

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker

There’s a new promo out for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker. The game will be out in Japan at the end of this year and the rest of the world will have to wait. This looks like a great game and you’ll be able to play it on your Nintendo DS Lite! As I’ve mentioned before, I last played Dragon Quest on the NES, but it was probably that game that turned me onto RPGs. It also introduced me to the superb artistry of Akira Toriyama. (Speaking of him, doesn’t this character look just like Trunks from Dragonball Z?)

Well, even if we do have to wait awhile for this game to come out in the U.S, we still have a bunch of great games coming out for Nintendo in the upcoming months. You can be sure that I’ll be grabbing Final Fantasy III when that comes out - even if it got a luke-warm review by some.

Puffed Air

Puffed Air fills you up - without filling you up!

Here’s a silly ad for a fictional product called Puffed Air cereal. I guess it beats all those sugary cereals for kids. I always enjoyed these silly spoof ads that you could find in some magazines. Check out the blank stares from the spawns of the Michelin man. They’re just freaky looking! If you want the full scanned copy click here.

80s Gaming Stickers

Sheets of arcade game themed stickers from the 80s.

Back in the 80’s, when arcades were king, I got these arcade game themed sticker sheets. They’re all still stuck to the original sheet, and I’ve not had the nostalgic inkling to peel these off and stick them around. Arcade games and stickers- what a great combo! Click on the thumbnails below to see the larger scanned version.

The stickers include arcade greats like Dragon’s Lair, Pac-Man, Q-Bert, Bugertime, Pitfall, Tron, Donkey Kong, Kangaroo, Frogger and lots more. If you’ve got labels, you can print them out and stick them where you like. Enjoy!

Mario the Bully

Mario comic by Joey Weiser

Check out this funny comic by Joey Weiser, creator of the online comic series, The Ride Home. Good work Joey! Mario doesn’t treat Goombas very nicely, does he?
