Killer Rabbit Slippers

That's no ordinary rabbit.

What’s he do, nibble your bum? Monty Python Killer Rabbit Slippers at ThinkGeek. Each pair is one size fits most, and features flapping mouth action (when you walk, the mouth flaps). Death awaits you all with nasty big pointy teeth. Run away!

Note: If you don’t know what madness I speak of, go and watch Monty Python’s - The Holy Grail movie.

The Last Stand

X-Men 3: Wolverine prepares to unleash his berserker rage.

It’s been a while since I mentioned this last, so don’t forget the X-Men 3 movie will be released in the U.S. this Friday, May 26th. This will be a great movie and I’ve enjoyed the previous two. Do you have a favorite X-Men character?

Jump for Joy

New Super Mario Bros - It's so much fun

I got my copy of New Super Mario Bros for my Nintendo DS and am enjoying it immensely. I picked it up this past weekend before going to The Da Vinci Code movie (which was pretty good and it stuck close to the book). This new Mario game is sweet and it plays like the original, but with so many more cool things throughout and you can occasionally save your game - thankfully.

I’ve only made it through the first world, but if you’re wondering what I’m up to- I’ll be playing. The only thing better then this will be the DS lite release, which happens here in a few weeks. I only hope that the rumors I’ve heard about multiple colors (which supposedly includes white, black, and silver) being released in the U.S. at launch is true. I’m waiting for the sleek black one.

Zartan Master of Disguise

Zartan, a master of disguise out to fool you.

Zartan, disguised in his face mask looks like he’s pulling a pile of junk. (It’s really the Chameleon, which he assembles later!)

When this G.I. Joe toy came out mid 80’s I thought it was the coolest thing. He changed color in sunlight, he had a mask and he had a cool vehicle to ride around on. Little did I know that a toy that looked like junk was quickly thrown in the trash by my parents. Man that sucked! All I had left was Zartan and from then on he had to walk everywhere he went.

Another thing about this toy- in the cartoon, Zartan was able to change faces to whatever he wanted. But with this toy, you were given one mask and that made him look like Zod, from Superman- which wasn’t much of a disguise and more of a Halloween thing.

G.I. Joe Pocket Patrol Pack

The G.I. Joe Pocket Patrol Pack on a silly dressed kid

It was marketed as “A great way to carry G.I. Joe to the battlefield”, but I kept all of mine in sandwich baggies. Those darn packs could only hold 4 or 5 guys at a time and how can a battle be fought with only a handful of guys. Having the ability to clip this unwieldy plastic box to your belt, was a bonus. If you tried wearing this thing, it greatly decreased your mobility, but all the kids thought it was cool and that was the key. I know this toy came out in the early 80s, but was that how we dressed back in those days?

Nintendo Amusement Park

Physically Augmented Reality

Nintendo Amusement Park is a real life obstacle course which a player jumps through using a power assist harness. This looks like fun and they’re actively seeking collaborators, sponsors, and investors for the next phases of the project. Perhaps the next phase would somehow tie this into the game itself. What a great way to get you off the couch and into the game!

Ball Puzzle

Which way do you roll?

This ball puzzle game gets tricky over time. Use the arrow keys to guide the red ball to the green exit warp. The catch is - you can’t change the direction you’re moving until the ball has comes to a stop. Different forces in your path will make you choose which way to go. Have fun and good luck! What level can you get to? (So far I’ve gotten to level 26)

The Da Vinci Code

A 2000 year-old conspiracy, clues to which are encoded in the paintings of Leonardo Da Vinci.

The Da Vinci Code, written by Dan Brown, has its movie release (in the U.S.) this Friday, May 19th. If the movie is even half as popular as the book, it will be at the top of the box office for awhile. Plus, with all the church news coverage against the movie, it only contributes to the conspiracy theme of the story. I enjoyed the book and I’ll be watching the movie, what about you?

Checkout the Quicktime trailer of The Da Vinci Code.

GI Joe vs. Transformers

How do these guys keep running into each other?

The next time you’re at your local comic store, check out G.I. Joe Vs Transformers: The Art of War. There’s more GI Joe and Transformers goodness within those pages then you can swing a stick at. The new five part mini-series started in March. It’s got the amazing artwork of Joe Ng. The story is alright, but don’t let that stop you from picking up these cool comics.

Snake-Eyes, Optimus Prime, Scarlett, Arcee and other favorites are flung from Earth to the Deception slums of Cybertron in a desperate race to prevent a horrifying new life form that has only one goal in mind: War on all that lives!

Gamers Getting Older

The average age of gamers is increasing

It may come as surprise to you - we’re all getting older. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has just released their annual “Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry” and it shows gamers are getting older. That seems like a no brainer. I guess that would explain why I shuffle around in my slippers more.

Well, I might be getting older, but at least I still have my games. Curse you young whippersnappers for usurping my youth!

Quisp

Quisp and Quunchy save the day

This silly cartoon was produced by John Kricfalusi and Spümcø. Quisp was originally released in 1966 in the U.S. by The Quaker Oats Company. The sugary sweet cereal disappeared from grocery shelves in the late 70s, but was re-introduced in the 90s in limited distribution. The original creators are Jay Ward and Bill Scott of Rocky and Bullwinkle fame.

I’m afraid I was never allowed to eat sugary cereal when I was a kid, but I did watch Rocky and Bullwinkle each Sunday. What fun!

Gently

Sometimes you got to squeeze, sometimes you got to say please.

I saw this Flash awhile ago and was just reminded of it after reading the Bibis box Blog. The band, Tenacious D, is comprised of Kyle Gass and Jack Black. It’s directed by our buddy Gabe Swarr with animation in part by Tony Mora and presented by Spümcø. That’s teamwork!

As a reminder: NSFW and definitely not safe for the kiddies or folks that get easily offended.

The song is sung sweetly and the animation works with it completely.

Super Mario Galaxy Far Far Away

Super Mario Galaxy marks somewhat of a departure from traditional Mario games.

Super Mario Galaxy looks extremely promising, but we’ll have to wait until next year for the game release on the Nintendo Wii system. This footage of Mario is stunning. The gameplay will definitely be a unique experience!
