Read about the beginnings of Image comics from one of the original members, Erik Larsen, in an article of his at CBR. He has revealed all the nitty gritty and dispelled the fantasy that some of us fans might have had about an early Image. He talks about the some of the guys like Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Jim Valentino and Marc Silvestri in their early years with Malibu comics and then how they started their own company.

I can recall the early days of Image comics quite fondly. Back in those days I was mostly a Marvel fanboy. Then some of the best talent at Marvel left and started their own comic company- Image- they captured my attention. The colors, stories and artwork were amazing and with all that talent together made for some great comics. I bought (and still have) all those original comics. They were just a little bit harder to find, in the beginning, but were definitely worth it. Image was like a breath of fresh air, especially compared with any of the other comic companies at the time.
