The Law of The Simpsons

America more familiar with cartoon family than First Amendment

In a recent phone survey, of a mere 1,000 folks, came the conclusion that most Americans know their Simpsons trivia a whole lot better then the Constitution. Duh! Doh! If the Constitution was more entertaining, like the Simpsons, then I’d imagine more people would catch on. Heck, I bet that more people were watching the Simpsons then reading the Constitution when called for the survey. People know what they like.

I enjoy watching the Simpsons and can usually relate most subject matter to the show. I guess it helps that I still watch the reruns fairly often and they’re ingrained in my brain. Plus the Simpsons shows have included just about everything. If they’ve not covered it on the Simpsons, then it probably shouldn’t concern you.

Look at all the wonderful things you have, sir: King Arthur’s “Excalibur”. The only existing nude photo of Mark Twain. And that rare first draft of the constitution with the word “suckers” in it. — Smithers, “Rosebud”

Let’s do a survey here – just post your comments. Do you know more Simpsons or the Constitution (and don’t mix it up with the 10 Commandments). I’ll take the first 1,000 comments. (If we get more then two posts I’ll consider opening the polls.)

    Simpsons in a heartbeat.

Of course I grew up with a school board that approved Super Mario Bros. as an elective course for Junior High study. When I moved to New Hampshire my 7th grade class could play Super Mario competitions in class or take a Study Hall. Guess which I did.
