Flying Spaghetti Monster - The Game

Obey your noodly master.

In this game, you play the Flying Spaghetti Monster and you must convert as many people into Pastafarians as you can before time runs out. Using your mouse, guide him around and click to deploy his noodly appendage toward the people who are running around franticly. Just beware to not come in contact with the darkly dressed school admin.

Both this game and the site are very entertaining! Spend some time checking out both.

Note: Use his shadow to help you locate yourself on the playing field.

Metroid Prime Hunters

Samus kicks butt on the Nintendo DS

If you’ve played Nintendo’s latest DS hit, Metroid Prime Hunters, you’re probably too busy playing to do much else (that’s what I’ve been up to). The game is a great addition to the DS Wi-Fi line-up and it’s getting a lot of good press. The only wish I have is that it’d be nice to have a quick save option, because my character seems to get killed often. Run Samus, run!

Update: You can also show of your Metroid Prime stats.

Zelda-Pac-Man

Pac Man and Zelda crossover game

This neat game is a fun mix of Zelda and Pac-Man and it’s a whole lotta fun. You take your Zelda characters and play with them in the classic Pac-Man style. It’s another crazy crossover to play and enjoy!

Thanks to our friends over at 4cr for pointing this game out.

Dad ‘N Me

Be the bully

In the game of Dad ‘N Me you play Rage, a purple-suited, skull-masked schoolyard bully. Rage gets to beat up anyone he can get his hands on. Make your way through the town pummeling as you go. Experiment with the combo system to eliminate as efficiently as possible. This fun game gets more challenging as you progress and it reminds me of the arcade classic Double Dragon.

Note: From the fine creators that brought you Alien Hominid!

Note 2: Rage reminds me a bit of The Maxx.

Mr Toast Animated - Clouds

Another animated Mr Toast

This is a good trend were seeing from Dan Goodsell- with another Flash animation from The Imaginary World. With this 3rd release it’s another Mr Toast, who is just sitting back and relaxing while watching the clouds float on by…

Can a full length animated movie be far behind? Wishful fans can only hope.

Toy Machine Mischief

These toys are all mine!

Doesn’t he look happy? Here’s a little boy who recently found himself inside of a toy machine. It’s easier to squeeze yourself in one of these then it is to actually do well at the game itself.

Update: It seems to be a trend. 1 | 2 | 3

Robot Sculptures

one-of-a-kind robot sculptures by Gordon Bennett.

What are you made of Mr. Tinman? These robot sculptures, by Gordon Bennett, look like they were fun to make, but they’re not toys. There are no moving parts here, just a lot of bits from here and there.

Lemonhead Animated

Lemonhead - the first ever Imaginary World character to talk.

Well, at first it was Mr Toast who was animated and now it’s Lemonhead. Plus, this is the first ever Imaginary World character to talk. This Flash animation was also done by Charles Barnard. When you have a chance check out our buddy Dan Goodsell’s blog. He’s got lots of great stuff there.

Note: I always expected Lemonhead to sound more like James Dean.

Cruise Control

A repeat of the Scientology episode of 'South Park' was pulled by Comedy Central.

I had no idea how silly this whole thing has gotten with Tom Cruise vs. South Park. The almighty power of the dollar wins out. Watch the episode that won’t be showing up in South Park reruns here.

Note: If the link to the video doesn’t work, then Tom Cruise has probably sued the host.

Update (03/27): Sure enough it’s been removed, that was quick. If you can find it online leave a post!

Patent Silliness

Necessity is the mother of invention. The father is unknown.

Have you ever had an idea and you’ve thought of adding to the excessive list of patents? Even if it seems silly and strange it has a place and you can see a lot of them at Patently Silly. What do you think the above picture is?

Hint: This might hurt a bit.

De-animator

Game from Herbert West, Reanimator: Six Shots by Midnight by H.P. Lovecraft

It’s uncommon to fire all six shots of a revolver with great suddenness when one would probably be sufficient, but many things in the life of Herbert West were uncommon…

Check out this freaky Flash game that might keep you up at night. Try shooting the zombies as they rise and find the weak spots on smaller zombies. Don’t forget you’ve got to reload after the sixth shot.

Pac-Man Rebuilt

Restoring a 1981 Pac-Man arcade machine

This Pac-Man Project, by Bryan Los, started back in 2000 when he purchased a Pac-Man cocktail arcade machine. The 20 years of dust, smoke and grime didn’t keep him from restoring to it’s original grandeur. It looks like a labor of love and he’s done a great job. Kudos Bryan!

The Image Explosion

Erik Larsen writes about the early days at Image comics

Read about the beginnings of Image comics from one of the original members, Erik Larsen, in an article of his at CBR. He has revealed all the nitty gritty and dispelled the fantasy that some of us fans might have had about an early Image. He talks about the some of the guys like Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Jim Valentino and Marc Silvestri in their early years with Malibu comics and then how they started their own company.

I can recall the early days of Image comics quite fondly. Back in those days I was mostly a Marvel fanboy. Then some of the best talent at Marvel left and started their own comic company- Image- they captured my attention. The colors, stories and artwork were amazing and with all that talent together made for some great comics. I bought (and still have) all those original comics. They were just a little bit harder to find, in the beginning, but were definitely worth it. Image was like a breath of fresh air, especially compared with any of the other comic companies at the time.

Do you remember when Image comics first came out?

Classic Children’s Book Illustrators

Kay Nielsen's Hansel And Gretel over at ASIFA

There’s more amazing scanned artwork over at the ASIFA. This colorful piece is from Kay Nielsen’s Hansel and Gretel. It reminds me of the old books we were read as kids, just before bedtime. I really like the ASIFA site and their collections of scanned vintage art. It’s fun just to look at it all. Thanks to the many fine folks and their donations of fine artwork and animation to the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archives. Now the rest of us can enjoy this great art.

If you have a wonderful book, video or collection of artwork that you would like to contribute to their site, let them know.

clubNAMCO

Officially licensed eclectic Namco products

YEAH!! Here’s another group vending to our nostalgic need. What a nice surprise to find clubNAMCO online. They’ve got toys, plushes, clothes, accessories, and (eventually) office & kitchen stuff. What a great way for us fans of PAC-MAN and other Namco games to relive all our great memories, with fun and collectible stuff. I guess they’ve just opened up their online store and are still adding inventory.

If you’re curious, I like the 2 Chocolate Brown (PAC-MAN The Star and PAC-MAN “Back In The Day”) medium t-shirts, the Full Set of clubNAMCO Plush Collection (PAC-MAN, Blinky the Red Ghost, Pinky the Pink Ghost, Inky the Blue Ghost, Pokey the Orange Ghost and Pooka from Dig Dug), the Full Set of PAC-MAN Moving Power-Plushes (battery-operated waddling plush PAC-MAN and the ghosts) and the PAC-MAN Plush-Head! I imagine I’ll add more to my list later.

So many cool things there…
