Nintendo Needs a Revolution

Time for a Revolution

Fool.com has an article about the past issues with the declining console sales of Nintendo.

Amid declining sales and profits, the company absolutely must regain its console dominance of yesteryear with the upcoming Revolution system. With its corporate back against the wall, we’ll see if Nintendo can rise to the challenge and figure out a way to turn the globe back into a Mario-loving world.

What should Nintendo do, exactly? For starters, the company had better follow Bill Gates’ lead…

Perhaps from an investor’s point of view Nintendo might not be the best stock to buy. I definitely don’t agree that they should follow Microsoft’s lead. The console market is always changing and you can’t get ahead just by adding more polygons and speed -where will it end. Content is king, the medium it is delivered on will always be improving and changing.

I don’t disagree that Nintendo probably needs a boost from its next console; but I believe that Nintendo is leading the way with the handheld and wireless gaming, esp. if compared with Microsoft and Sony. Although I’ve read that Microsoft is looking to enter the mobile gaming market.
