Italy Special FlavourPizza Biscuits
While on a visit to the local market, I happened upon these interestingly packaged morsels. A large picture of a pizza dominates the space on the tube and my first thought was, pizza in a tube!?

I never had pizza in a tube before and I imagine you haven’t either. So in order to be ahead of the curve, I got some. Since these have probably been around for awhile, I decided to check the shelf for the one with the least amount of dust on it.

I’m not as well versed in much but English, but what few words I can read looked like some kind of fancy flavored cracker of imperials! With statements such as, “Italy Special Flavour”, “Imperial Super Pizza” and “Best Before: See Bottom of tin” how could I go wrong. I’d be crazy not to buy these and try them out for myself. In fact I owed it to my inner imperial-ness!

After I dusted off this relic and noticed that the “Best Before” date is no where to be seen, I wondered if it would be edible. I carefully opened the tube of pizza and noticed that it thankfully had been vacuum packed and seemed somewhat fresh .

Upon closer inspection, the labeling might have been less than accurate on the whole pizza thing. These look just like mini Ritz crackers. If you notice below, next to the picture of the happy couple (who aren’t eating any pizza tube crackers), little traces of red and green spices on the cracker.

Well, they taste OK. Nothing too super about them. They taste much like a salty, spicy cracker. The SuperImperial Pizza biscuits are a little disappointing, but I imagine I can eat the rest of them. At least there are in 2 separate stay fresh pouches, to greatly increase the enjoyment factor over a longer period of time.

(Although, several hours, after eating them I can still taste them, and yes I gargled and brushed.)

It’s a pastime of mine to try weird Asian snack products now that we have a Super H Mart (mega Asian grocery store) just down the street from us. I draw the line at cuttlefish chips though.
