Nintendo challenges gaming basics

There is a good article at BBC about Nintendo’s next generation console and how it is innovating its own path.

[The] Revolution aims to shake the basic formula of gaming to attract new people to the world of gaming, says Nintendo.

As with any new ideas and innovations there are risks involved. Innovation is a spark that keeps businesses and people moving ever onward and upward. Without innovation, new products, new services, and new ways of gaming would never emerge. We would be forever stuck doing the same old games the same old way.

Commodore To Re-Enter Game Industry

The beloved name Commodore, which is easily recognized by those more aged among computer and gaming aficionados, changed hands earlier this year to Yeahromino Media Ventures. They have now announced their intention to return the brand to gaming and are forming a new company, called Commodore Gaming. This new company will produce software and hardware that will use its vast catalog of retro games.

The new company will produce standalone TV devices similar to the wildly successful Atari and Pac-Man self-contained units, as well as software packages akin to Intellivision Lives or Atari Anthology. Furthermore, the Commodore Games label will produce original game licenses as a more traditional games publisher.

Chris Rock pilot on Google Video

Everybody Hates Chris from Google video

UPDATE: I guess that’s it for the free stream of the pilot…

The new Chris Rock pilot is now unavailable from Google Video as a free video stream. UPN is offering the pilot of Chris Rock’s new show “Everybody Hates Chris” as a free download via Google Video. Smart — a TV pilot has a lot more to lose from being obscure than it does from not raking in every possible cent of advertising revenue.

Marvel madness!

Marvel Videogames go head-to-head
Three Marvel-licensed videogames have come out in the same week, and if for some reason you only get one this week, which shall it be: Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects or X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse? IGN compares and contrasts each of the games and only one comes out a winner. I’m a big X-men fan, but Spiderman looks really slick too.

When Great Ideas Aren’t Great Enough

Here is an interesting point of view on the new Nintendo Revolution controller and the future of Nintendo as a whole. I don’t think this guy really likes Nintendo much.

“Realistically, I wouldn’t be surprised if the DS started gearing down over the next year, and we saw a complete decline of good DS games.” - Gam3r@TheGATE.ca

The article can be found here. I don’t know if I agree with him, but he makes some interesting points.

Crazy roof crows

The crazy roof crows, that live to break large nuts, on the stone roof in the morning. The crows look through the skylight with a smirk across their beak. Whilest sleeping I can hear them rapping, rapping on my chamber door… no wait roof.
